Version: Traxis Camera Tracking 1.1

Defining OptiTrack Camera Locations

Proper camera placement is crucial for achieving high-quality tracking and optimizing the efficiency of Traxis Camera Tracking.

Before you start, we recommend the following steps:

  • Sketch out your camera placement plans.
  • Ensure that marker visibility is maintained throughout the capture process; this is a critical step in minimizing marker occlusions.
  • Adjust the camera angles to point towards the body of the Traxis Camera Tracker.
  • Divide the setup area into sections to reduce computational workload.
  • Position the cameras along the periphery of the Setup Area to track markers both in front of and behind the subject.
  • If possible, place the cameras at higher elevations to maximize capture coverage.
  • Maintain a consistent distance between the cameras to avoid overlap and reduce computational demands.
  • Consider that a longer distance between cameras provides more coverage for larger setups, while a shorter distance offers more accurate tracking, especially when making lens focus adjustments.
